Snow Leopard is the new Mac OS X that is considered to be one of the most useful Mac OS X around the world now. Its new features include a new UI that makes working with Mac OS X simple. Unlike before, Expose which is Apple’s feature for finding the window you want on an untidy desktop used to be available on the keyboard function keys but Snow Leopard now makes it easier to access Expose by placing it on the Dock. For a new user just subscribing for the software, you will need to pay $169 for exciting features like iLife, and a very elegant iWork feature as well. As part of its efforts to make Snow Leopard, even more, better, Apple has made it possible for the program to work with Microsoft Exchange. This allows you to work with Exchange servers without necessarily using Microsoft Entourage. You can now easily use your Address Book and contact your friends, associates and set up meetings using the iCal. Snow Leopard requires less hard-drive space than earlier versions of OS X and gives you more than enough value for your money as it does not hog system performance.
One bit of a letdown about Snow Leopard, however, is that it does not work on PowerPC systems. Snow Leopard only supports devices running Intel Macs.
Snow Leopard now comes with a revamped installation process that does not require an immediate reboot and saves space by changing how printer drivers are installed. The entire process is straightforward and fast. If you would like to customize your installation, you would notice that the installation of printer drivers is entirely different in Snow Leopard. In previous versions of OS X, you had the option of installing drivers for the printers of particular vendors. That was always a bit confusing as it will restart your device twice even though it will not delete any of your files, documents, music or photos. It will take you about an hour to finish the process. The revamped installation process has been designed to revert to your former Os without touching your files.
Another feature to note is the File Quarantine service that came out with the 10.4 Tiger Mac OS X that has now been more developed to strongly notify users of the dangers posed by a newly detected malware. The service automatically deletes any malware detected to prevent it from harming your device. Also, this feature is regularly being updated whenever a newly generated malware comes online.
Another new addition in Snow Leopard is the OpenCL which makes it possible for developers to use any onboard video cards for their own general computing without having to go through the bulk amount of codes. This will certainly help users to develop software that will be very useful in the future. And the QuickTime X which is the apple’s Media Player has been more refined to give you a better experience. You can now use the new share button to converts videos into formats that will work best on your screen.
Overall, Snow Leopard for Mac offers all that it claims to offer without compromising on quality and system performance. With Snow Leopard, users now have a better Mac OS X and can now enjoy their devices better.
